5 Stages

The first project of the second year, also the first time we made a 3d project also also, the first time we used unity. A lot of new things this time and it shows. The assignment this time was to make a game for an existing campaign addressing a social issue. We chose one about awareness and help for people dealing with grief and loss(https://sire.nl/campagnes/rouwverwerking). I came up with a concept of a boy that lost his parents going through the five stages of grief in the form of levels in a maze (heavy stuff). Every level was to be stylized after the stage of grief it represents and would feature mechanics that fit with the theme.

Great in concept, not so great in execution. Two weeks is not that long and doing 3d for the first time is quite challenging task. The game was never fully finished and it definitely did not look as great as it could have been had we done it now, thankfully people improve over time and we were certainly able to learn and improve a lot from this project.
